Frankfurt Kitchen
Cab design, based on 1926 Frankfurt kitchen by Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky. Fabricated in our workshop in collaboration with Thomas Wunsch Cabinetmakers and installed for a home in Brighton. A painted finish was applied throughout to the face of the kitchen. Cabinets, drawers, doors and Sycamore lipped shelves were all constructed from Birch plywood. Lift off hinges, still manufactured in the same factory as used in the original kitchens were used to hang the inset cabinet doors. Solid Beech was used to construct the rolling glazed wall units doors and manufacture drawer and cabinet handles. Beech was also applied as lipping to the cork faced pull out chopping boards and the black Linoleum worktop.
